Tooth-colored Fillings

The concept of a “filling” is replacing and restoring your tooth structure that is damaged due to decay or fracture with a solid durable material. We will replace old, broken-down amalgam/metal fillings that contain traces of mercury with white fillings (composites) to restore your smile and teeth to a more natural look and feel.

With today's advancements, no longer will you have to suffer the embarrassment of unsightly and unhealthy silver/mercury fillings or metal margins of the past. Eliminate the dark, black appearance in your teeth with new-age, state-of-the-art, tooth-colored resin or porcelain materials.

Comparing White Fillings Versus Silver Amalgam Fillings:

White fillings bond to the tooth; they strengthen the tooth by restoring most of its original shape.

Silver amalgams, on the other hand, weaken the teeth and make them more susceptible to breaking. Broken teeth can be very expensive to replace; tooth colored composite can actually save time and money in the long run.

White filling composites are preferred by most patients. This is due to the natural color, strength and overall appearance and feel. Composites are naturally more comfortable.

Restorations with composites require less tooth structure removal than those restorations with amalgam.

Dramatically smaller holes are needed with a composite filling.

White fillings are healthier because no traces of mercury are used, unlike silver amalgams.

Dental Crowns AtlantaInlays/Onlays and Crowns
Sometimes, if the decay is too big for a bonded filling, we can use a natural colored porcelain inlay or onlay. We can place it on teeth that have deteriorated from disease or have cracked because of old metal fillings. Porcelain inlays or onlays are more conservative than crowns. If your old filling was very large, or if decay does not leave enough tooth structure for an inlay or onlay and the chewing demands are too intensive for inlays or onlays, we can place a porcelain crown. Our gentle touch, and knowledge of modern dentistry, can restore your dental health comfortably and quickly.

Root Canal Treatments
Root canal therapy is when an infected or damaged nerve is removed and replaced with a filling material. This therapy may be necessary when a tooth has extensive decay, a large filling is being replaced, there is a crack in the tooth or the tooth has experienced recent or past trauma. Most instances may be handled directly in our office, however there may be special occasions when we will need to refer someone to another dentist who specializes in this type of therapy.

Implant Restorations
When permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason, dental implants can offer a “new lease on life.” They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure, and esthetic. After nearly 35 years of use, they have a 95% proven success rate.

An implant is a special surgical grade titanium post, manufactured to highly precise specifications, under strict sterile conditions, that is inserted surgically into the jawbone below the gum surface.
As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth are then attached and shaped to match your mouth. Implants can help replace a single tooth, or a full set of teeth. If you have been suffering with a loose partial denture, loose full dentures, or are missing teeth, do not hesitate to call our doctors to be evaluated for implants. It can change your life!

Partial or Complete Dentures
Gum disease, injury and tooth decay can all cause a loss of your natural teeth. However, we can bring back the smile on your face with dentures to restore your missing teeth. With improved technology and updated materials, dentists can now make them appear more natural and more comfortable for the patient.

There are two types of dentures: complete dentures and partial dentures. Complete dentures cover the patient’s entire jaw while partial dentures, using either an all acrylic or a custom fitted metal framework, holds on to your strong natural teeth to replace those missing. Ask our doctors to see which type would be right for you.
